Who is this site for?

Families planning a trip to Thailand who want straight answers: which places suit a 2-year-old or a 12-year-old, how long the drives really are, what the car seat law says, which months are too hot or too wet, and what to do if a child gets sick. We write for the parent doing the planning at night after the children are asleep, so pages open with the answer and keep the detail below it.

How do we choose places?

A place makes our destinations list when it passes four tests:

1. Children enjoy it, at an age we can name: we give an age range, not a vague "family-friendly".
2. It is reachable without an exhausting journey: we give the travel time from Bangkok or the nearest airport, taken from the transfer operators' published routes.
3. The risks are manageable and we can say how: life jackets at waterfalls, observation-only elephant venues following World Animal Protection's guidance, mornings at the lotus lake before the heat.
4. We can confirm it exists and is operating, from an official or first-hand source. If we cannot, we describe the type of place without naming a business.

"Kid-friendly" is our judgment, not a certificate. We do not inspect, certify or rank attractions, hotels or drivers, and nothing on this site is a guarantee.

How are facts checked and dated?

Rules, fees, distances and dates come from named sources, in this order of preference: Thai government bodies (for example the Department of National Parks, the Thai Meteorological Department, the Immigration Bureau and Airports of Thailand), international health bodies (the CDC and the World Health Organization), and first-hand pages from the place or operator itself. Where we rely on a news report, the source list says so.

• Every guide ends with its sources and the date we checked them.
• Rules that can change carry an "as of" date, and every page shows when it was last updated.
• When sources disagree, or something could not be confirmed, we say so on the page instead of picking the convenient answer. For example, it is not confirmed whether ride-hailing cars are exempt from the child-seat rule, and we write exactly that.
• We do not publish prices that change often, such as attraction tickets or taxi fares; we link to the source instead.

Transparency: Thailand 4 Kids is affiliated with Smile Taxi Service and its regional transfer sites, which we list on the car seat taxis page and link from destination cards and itineraries.

Everything we say about those services comes from the operator's published terms: fixed prices per vehicle with expressway tolls included, child seats on request (100 THB per seat on the regional booking sites, shown when you book), nothing charged when you book, and free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup. The operator is rated 5.0 on Google and Tripadvisor. We do not print their fares, because fares change and live on the operator's sites. We also say plainly where other options, such as trains, are fine for families.
